A memorial service remembering and celebrating Kayla’s life will be held at 4 PM on Monday, June 8, 2026, in the Heritage Chapel of the Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Doc Shelton and Bro. James Steele officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, beginning at 3 PM.

Born on July 19, 1988, in Oxford, Mississippi, Kayla was the beloved daughter of Floye Denham. She attended Mantachie High School, earning her GED in 2005, and later pursued a career in healthcare, graduating from nursing school to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. She faithfully cared for others while employed at Ashland Health and Rehabilitation for several years. She also spent time working at Tubby Creek Farms, a place she truly loved and where she formed many treasured friendships.

While Kayla wore many titles throughout her life, none meant more to her than being a mother. She considered her two sons, Brently Blade Denham, age 14, and Jaxon River King, age 5, to be her greatest accomplishments and life’s greatest blessings. They were the center of her world, and she loved them with a devotion beyond measure. Her niece and nephew where also a very important part of her life, as she loved them as her own and was so proud of all their accomplishments.

Kayla was a woman whose life touched far more people than she ever realized. She possessed a beautiful singing voice, a contagious laugh, and a heart that longed for connection with those she loved. Whether sharing stories, laughter, or simply spending time with family and friends, she had a way of making others feel welcome and valued.

Life was not always easy for Kayla, but she faced every challenge with remarkable courage and determination. She was a true fighter who persevered through hardships that would have overwhelmed many. Though the cards life dealt her were often difficult, she continued to push forward with strength, resilience, and an unwavering love for her family. Her story is one of perseverance, and her legacy will be remembered not only for the battles she faced, but for the grace and courage with which she faced them.

Kayla was preceded in death by her sister, Amanda Nicole Jackson, and her grandparents, Herman and Ethel Denham.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving mother, Floye Denham of Ashland, Mississippi; her beloved sons, Brently Blade Denham and Jaxon River King, both of Ashland; her half-brother, Kenny Goolsby, Jr. of Water Valley, Mississippi; her nephew, Levi Presley, and niece, Neely Presley, both of Hernando, Mississippi; several aunts and uncles; and a host of cousins, friends, and loved ones whose lives were forever blessed by knowing her.

Though her time on earth was far too short, the love Kayla shared, the strength she displayed, and the memories she created will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Ripley Funeral Home invites you to share memories with Kayla’s family.
