Mrs. Katherine Reynolds was born March 22, 1926 in Stella, TN to Ben and Marion Gilbert. She fought a good fight; she kept the faith and went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 16, 2016.
She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Chestnut Grove AME Church in Stella, TN. She united in holy matrimony to Waymon Reynolds December 25, 1940 and to this union 8 children were born. Katherine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She loved making quilts. She loved her animals, dogs, goats, and chickens.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 19th from 12:00pm until 1:00pm at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home.
Funeral service to follow visitation at 1:00pm in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Birder Mae Murray officiating.
Burial will take place in New Gilbert Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Marion Gilbert, husband, Waymon Reynolds, daughter, Helen Reynolds, sisters, Marvelene Kimbrough and Ada Williams, and brother, Ezell Gilbert.
She leaves to cherish her memory seven children. Waymon (Linda) Reynolds Jr., Marva (George) Gentry of Prospect, TN, Anna Reynolds of Indianapolis, IN. Debra (George) McGrone of Pulaski, TN, George (Evelyn) Reynolds of Fayetteville, TN, Cynthia (Vernon) Lutter and Eddie(Brenda) Reynolds of Pulaski, TN. Twenty grandchildren, forty-six great grandchildren and a host of great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Brother, James C. Gilbert and sister-in-law Alma Ruth Gilbert.
Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements for Mrs. Katherine Reynolds.
