A private graveside service for Katherine Jeanell Flynn Cato, age 80, of Baileyton, AL, formerly of Fayetteville, TN, will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, with Doug McKelvy officiating. There will be no visitation prior to the service.

Katherine was born on August 17, 1944, in Lincoln County, TN, to the late James Lawrence Flynn and Katherine Colbert Flynn. A quiet yet steadfast presence, she dedicated her life to serving others, always working behind the scenes with love and care. She cherished her family deeply, and her warm smile and feisty spirit will be dearly missed. On March 11, 2025, she passed away peacefully at home and entered the arms of Jesus.

She is survived by her daughters, Penny Cato (Dan Quinn) of Chicago, IL, and Pepper McKelvy (Doug) of Baileyton, AL; grandchildren, Molly McKelvy Garner (Levi), Toby Quinn, and Ronald McKelvy (Danielle); her brother, Calvin Flynn, and sister, Zerita Beddingfield; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Mancil Tobie Cato; her parents; and brothers, Randall, David, Leabert, Joel, and Gerry Flynn.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff of Cullman Regional Hospice—Tia, Brittney, Lyndie, and Kelly—as well as caregivers Rhonda, Shirley, Sharon, and Shannon, for their compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Cullman County, Inc., 5788 Alabama Highway 157, Cullman, AL 35055.
