Karen Ann Starr Espey, 74, of Huntsville, AL passed away on May 24, 2026, in her home.
Karen was born in Henderson, KY to Bertha Jane Caldwell and Charles Jackson Starr on October 18th, 1951. She went to high school at Butler High School and graduated in 1970. She went on to complete three years at Samford University. She worked as an executive assistant for Chrysler. She enjoyed reading, working in the garden, picnics, and spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. Her greatest passion was her relationship with Jesus Christ and bringing others to the Lord. She loved encouraging her family with the Scriptures.
Karen is survived by her husband of 53 years, Timothy Espey, of Huntsville, Alabama; her sons, Carey Espey (wife, Mica) and Jason Espey (wife, Jessica); her sister, Jan Sahawneh; seven surviving grandchildren, Liberty Ellis (husband Nick), Michael, Harper, Paige, Jolie, Cohen, Jemma; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Jane Starr.
A private memorial service is being held.
