Justin Wayne Nash won his five-year battle with cancer when he met his Savior face to face on Tuesday, September 6, 2022.
Justin was born August 19, 1974, in Amory, MS, to Jimmy and Jerri Branham Nash. He graduated from Smithville High School in 1992, where he was elected Mr. Smithville High School and Most Likely to Succeed. Justin received a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and minors in Mathematics and Physics from Mississippi State University where he graduated in the top 10% of the entire engineering college in 1997.
Justin married his soulmate, best friend, and the love of his life, Carrie Byrd Nash, on December 21, 1996, and they were blessed with two amazing children, Caitlin and Alex. There was never any doubt that his world revolved around his wife and children, and he made sure they knew how much he loved them every day.
Justin enjoyed kayaking, saltwater fishing, golfing, and making memories with his wife and children. He was a faithful member of Launch Point Church of Tuscumbia and loved worshipping there with his family and friends. He took great joy studying the Bible and would often have several different styles of Bibles and reference materials open at one time. After Justin’s cancer diagnosis, he made over five hundred horseshoe cross necklaces and gave away every single one.
Justin is survived by his wife of almost twenty-six years, Carrie Byrd Nash; daughter, Caitlin Paige Nash, Gulfport, MS; son, Justin Alexander “Alex” Nash, Sheffield; mother, Jerri Branham Nash, Smithville, MS; brothers, Bert Nash (Debbie), Smithville, MS and Randy Nash (Angela), Columbus, MS; father-in-law, Robert Byrd; mother-in-law, Cyndi Byrd, Grand Bay, AL; brother-in-law, Robby Byrd, Memphis, TN; sisters-in-law, Miranda Springer (Herb), Birmingham, and Stephanie Bosarge, Irvington, AL; his wife’s grandparents, Jeanine Barnes Skinner (Jack), Grandbay, AL; nephews and nieces, Rusty Burroughs (Heather), Kendi HItt, Jera Nash, Christame Nash, Gracie Springer, Emma Bosarge, Lucas Bosarge, and Charlie Springer; and seven great-nieces and -nephews.
Justin was preceded in death by his dad, Jimmy Carl Nash and his wife’s grandfather, who he was especially close to, Barney C. Barnes.
A Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, September 10, at Launch Point Church, Tuscumbia, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Launch Point Church, www.launchpointchurch.com, Red Warrior Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
The family offers special thanks to Clearview Cancer Institute, UAB Cancer Institute, and Justin’s supervisors and co-workers at Constellium.
Justin was a great man of faith. Even after a very hard fought five year battle with Stage IV cancer, he never wavered in his faith. He made the most of his five year battle by living every day to the fullest and always giving God the Glory for every single day.
