Funeral Services for Junior Jackson Morrison, age 93, of Delta will be held on Sunday May 11, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Wesley’s Chapel Christian Church with Rev. Bennie Morrison, Rev. David Holcombe, and Rev. Billy Todd officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

Mr. Morrison passed into his eternal home on Friday May 9, 2025. He was born to Johnny and Elvie Duke Morrison. He farmed for several years and joined the U.S. Army in 1948, and served 18 years receiving an honorable discharge. He worked for D and L for several years, for Shaddix pulpwood for 10 years, and farmed his entire adult life. He was notorious for his trips to the farmers markets, many farms on Sand Mountain, Cordelle GA, and anywhere he could buy fresh produce. He was known as the “mater man” by many people, as well as his nickname “Skinny Minny”. He was a member of Delta VFD for over 25 year, was an active member of Wesley Chapel Christian Church where he was chairman of deacons since 1998. He was known for bailing hay, his love for his Farmall tractors, and his devotion to his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife Helen.

He is was a devoted husband to his wife of 58 years, Barbara Helen Levens Morrison of Delta; six sons, Rev. Bennie D. Morrison (Suenell), Jackson Alan Morrison, William Donald Morrison (Loretta), Christopher E. Morrison (Tara), Tracy M. Morrison, all of Delta and Daniel Ray Morrison (Anna) of Lineville; his grandchildren, Kayla Houston, Dylan Morrison, Kelsey Morrison, Tristen Morrison, Natalie Morrison, Carter Morrison, Dakota Taylor, Erica Taylor, John Duncan, Michelle Williamson, Justin Denney, Jonathon Thompson; 27 great grandchildren; a sister, Martha Jean Carter of Ashland; a brother Alfred Lee Morrison of Detroit MI.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Johnnie William Morrison and Elvie Mae Duke Morrison; his daughter Regina Taylor and a grandchild Kole Duncan; three sisters and three brothers.

Active Pallbearers will be Dylan Morrison, Tristen Morrison, Dakota Taylor, Lil’ John Duncan, Colby Linsey, Chris Burgin, and Justin Denney.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Carter Morrison.

A visitation will take place on Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 5:30 PM until 8:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville and one hour prior to services at the church.
