Mrs. Judy Karen Cundiff, age 72, of Arab, Alabama, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Friday, November 14, 2025. Born on June 16, 1953, in Macomb, Michigan, Judy was the beloved daughter of Nolon Franklin and Doris Jean Butler Franklin.
Judy devoted much of her life to caring for others through her work as a certified nursing assistant in local hospitals. She was a kind, generous, gentle lady who loved others and serving the Lord. She was a faithful member of the Prayer Team of Liberty Church and actively participated in the Arab Senior Center, where she treasured time with her many friends, enjoyed games of cards, and delighted in working on jigsaw puzzles. She loved sharing time with her son while watching car racing.
Judy is survived by her children, Karen Smith (Joey Smith), Sandi Cone (Allen Cone) and Jeffrey Gorgus; grandchildren, Ashley Martin, Krissy Andrews, Hayley Foster, Kayla Woods, Joseph Smith, Tyler Cone and Dylan Cone; 17 great grandchildren; son-in-law, Heath Bolton.
Preceding Judy in death in addition to her parents, Nolon and Doris Jean Franklin, is her daughter, Angie Bolton; brother, Kenneth Nolon Franklin, and great grandson, Caleb Martin.
Services for Judy will be Sunday, November 16, 2025 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be from 1:30 until the funeral service begins at 3:00pm. Brother Keith Hodges will officiate. Jimmy Duke will present the eulogy. Pallbearers to escort Judy to her final resting place in Rice Cemetery will be Michael Martin, Chris Andrews, Brantley Andrews, Dale Thomas, Roger Duke and Rocky Duke. Judy’s family wishes to thank Shepherd’s Cove Hospice for their care and attention. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
