It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Judy Ann White, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, on May 9, 2025, at the age of 80 years old. She was born on December 25th, 1944, in Huntsville, Alabama, to William M. and Unav Burgess Swaim. Judy lived a life dedicated to her family and friends. She was a graduate of New Hope High School, attended the University of Alabama – Huntsville where she studied Interior Design, and retired from Teledyne Brown Engineering, where she worked as an Executive Assistant. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dwayne White, and her son, David Atchley.
Judy was a resilient and generous woman, with a fierce passion for the arts. She was a gifted artist who commissioned countless paintings, and an avid designer who took pride in bringing the homes of family and friends to life with her keen sense of style. She was a loyal and supportive friend to many and cherished the time she spent visiting with friends and playing cards.
She was a devoted wife to Dwayne, an adoring mother to David and Lisa, a loving grandmother to Donald and Justin, a loving great-grandmother to Lilly and William, and a supportive sister to Barbara and Joni. Her love for her family was boundless, and her influence will continue to be felt by all who knew her.
Judy leaves behind her daughter, Lisa Hutchison, her grandsons, Justin Atchley (Holly) and Donald Hutchison (Kendra); her sisters, Barbara Polston and Joni Bare; and several nieces and nephews.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved by those she left behind, who are grateful for the time they shared with her.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, with the funeral to follow in the chapel. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
