Joyce Loretta Cowan Maples, 91, of New Hope, passed away Saturday.
She was preceded in death by husband, James Nelton Maples; father, Thomas Gordon Cowan; mother, Laura B. Cowan; siblings, Margaret Cowan Martin and Mae Willa Cowan Stephens; and two infant brothers.
Surviving are children, James Danny Maples (Mary Ann), Joy Maples McCrary (Danny), Thomas Keith Maples (Susan Spano), and Marsha Maples McCard (Shane); grandchildren, Christy Maples Whitehead, Casey Nelton Maples, Astasha Stewart Baker, Tamera Stewart Wilbourne, Douglas E. Stewart, Jr., Tobis Ian Maples, Micah Eli Maples, Jeremy Eathan Maples, Michael McCrary, Brent McCrary, Blake McCard and Ashley McCard; sixteen great grandchildren, and five great, great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will follow Thursday at 1:00 PM with Dr. Shane Baker and Pastor Tom Johnson officiating.
Interment will be in Byrd Cemetery.
