Mrs. Joyce Faye Holt, age 87, of Athens, Alabama, passed away peacefully at her residence on July 13, 2026.
Born on February 3, 1939, Joyce was the daughter of George W. Prince and Inez Marie Brooks Prince. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. A woman of strong faith, Joyce was of the Baptist faith and lived her life with kindness, love, and dedication to her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Deborah George of Athens and Donna Hildebrand of Harvest; her son, Ted Holt, Jr. and his wife Gail of Athens; her sister, Brenda Clay of Athens; six grandchildren, Cody Amerson, Casey George, Jessica George, Rachael Hildebrand, Amber Hildebrand, and Matthew Hildebrand; and one great-grandchild, Connor Amerson.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, George W. Prince and Inez Marie Brooks Prince; her beloved husband, Ted Holt; and her brothers, Junior Prince and Gary Prince.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 11:00am at Athens City Cemetery with Rachael Hildebrand officiating.
Pallbearers will be Cody Amerson, Casey George, Matthew Hildebrand, Jessie McLemore, Mason Penrod, and Gabriel Starks.
Joyce will be remembered for her loving heart, unwavering faith, and the deep devotion she showed to her family throughout her life. Her memory will be treasured by all who knew and loved her.
