Joy West Toles was born in Lambert, Mississippi on July 19, 1933 to Madie Chapman and Thomas Forrest West. She was the youngest, and only daughter, of four children. She married David Oliver Toles on June 2, 1956, and they spent almost 61 years together as devoted husband and wife. Joy passed to her new home on April 25, 2017 in the presence of loved ones.
“Momma Joy” is survived by her loving husband, David; her four sons and spouses, Michael Owen (Judy), David Forrest, Jeffery Todd (Sandra), Thomas Andrew and daughter-in-law, Angie Toles; nine granddaughters; two grandsons; and three grandsons-in-law.
Our mother spent a lifetime of sacrifice and devotion to her family, and made sure we all were raised to walk in the path of righteousness and devotion to God. Mom will be greatly missed, long remembered and greatly loved. We are happy for her that she now is in the arms of her Lord and Savior, immersed in peace and love.
Goodbye for now, mom, we shall join you soon.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral will immediately follow in the chapel with Todd Toles officiating.
