Josie Lee Brown, age 62 of the Union Hill Community, Lacey’s Spring Alabama died Sunday – April 17, 2016 in Decatur, Alabama.
Mrs. Brown was born on February 20, 1954 in Lawrence County Alabama to Walter Mears and Mildred Cooper Mears. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Brown was a member of Brindlee Mountain Church of God where she taught Sunday School for 30+ years. She worked at Eaton in Arab before her retirement.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Shirley Gene “Bud” Brown; two sons: Timothy G. Brown (Kelly) and Tyler Owen; four daughters: Tina Brown McLemore (Randy), Karen Childers (Michael), Whitney Forshee (Richard Kail) and Amanda Lee Ronca (Joey); sixteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two sisters: Nancy Scruggs and Patricia Kirby (Lonnie). She was preceded in death by her parents: Walter & Mildred Means; a daughter: DeeAnn Brown Owen; a sister Betty Tanksley and a brother Bobby Roan.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday – April 20, 2016 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel – Morgan City, with Brother Daniel Whatley and Brother Dennis Shaddix officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery, Morgan City. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing.
Pallbearers will be Austin McLemore, Joey McLemore, Matthew Corona, Shane Brown, Dennis Medders and Brent Medders.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Kevin Blake, Jason Victory, Shawn Brown and Jack Brown.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday – April 20, 2016 at Brindlee Chapel, Morgan City
