Joseph Richard Smith, 82 of Athens, passed away on Thursday, January 4th, 2023, at Athens Limestone Hospital. Mr. Smith was born on April 20th, 1941, in California, to Joseph B. Smith and Evelyn Rutherford Smith.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife Joyce Tappero Smith; daughters Cindy Smith (Justin) and Cheryl Gott (Sherwin); son Steven Smith (Audrey); 7 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister Joan Rogers.
