Joseph Edwin Bates, age 58 of Estill Springs, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2020 at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 6, 1962 to the late Edward K. Bates and Marilyn Levebre Rhinehart. Before his retirement, Joseph had been employed at Riverside Nursery and with Bethel Davis Landscaping. Joseph enjoyed tending to his plants and flowers, drawing, and collecting hats and shoes, but most of all he loved when his children and grandchildren came over to visit. A loyal friend to all, he was passionate about his family and sharing words of wisdom with them. Joseph is survived by his loving wife of thirty-five years, Rebekah Bates of Estill Springs; children, Angela (Brooklyn) Robinson of Tullahoma, and Kristie (Shannon) Nee of Estill Springs; grandchildren, Catelyn, Corey, Joseph, and Jalynn; brother, Raymond Edward Bates of Estill Springs; several nieces and nephews; and four-legged best friends, Simon and Bella. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 3:30 pm on Thursday, August 20, 2020 in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Bro.
