Jonathan Paul Usery Jonathan Paul Usery, aged 29, of Toney, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, September 14th, 2025. Born on January 11th, 1996, in Athens, Alabama, Jonathan was the son of Brian and Janice Dempsey Usery.

Jonathan leaves behind a family who cherished him deeply, including his mother, Janice Usery, and his sister, Chasity Dempsey. He was a loving uncle to his nephews, Blake and Rylan Dempsey. His extended family includes his aunt and uncle, Jessica and Brandon Cluxton, and cousins Terence Burks and Deanna Cluxton. Jonathan’s grandparents, Paul and Brenda Usery, also survive him, along with his dog, Max, whom he affectionately called Bubbiez. He is also survived by his aunt and uncle, Tammy and Frankie Taymon, and cousins Joseph Taymon and Taylor Webb.

Jonathan was preceded in death by his father, Brian Usery, and his grandparents, Johnny and Rita Dempsey.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on Sunday, September 21st, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:45 PM at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM, officiated by Brandon Cluxton. Jonathan will be laid to rest at Hodges Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service will include Heath Gatlin, Keith Gatlin, Colton Clinard, Cruz Arispe, Jody Pugh, Thomas Bonville, Jonathan Pinkard, and Austin Copeland. Honorary pallbearers will be C.J. Spence and Tyler Spence.

Jonathan was a remarkable young man with a zest for life, particularly enjoying all things fishing and riding motorcycles. His family meant everything to him, especially his nephews Blake and Rylan, whom he adored as though they were his own. Jonathan shared a special bond with his sister, often by her side. He considered his bosses, Thomas Bonville and Sam Bacon as part of his family. Jonathan’s circle of best friends included Jonathan Pinkard, Cruz Arispe, Colton Clinard, Jody Pugh, Heath Gatlin, Keith Gatlin, and Austin Copeland. Having recently started working at Polaris, Jonathan was eager for new beginnings. His infectious spirit and kind heart will be missed dearly by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Jonathan will always be remembered for his love, laughter, and the joy he brought into the lives of those around him. May his soul rest in peace.
