Jon Wesley Baker, 62, of Guntersville, Alabama, passed away on the morning of April 2, 2025.
Jon was an avid outdoorsman with a deep love for hunting and fishing. His early years were spent on the West Coast of California, fishing the Pacific Ocean alongside friends and family. At 25, he made his way to Alabama, where he met the love of his life. Together, they raised a daughter and a son.
For 28 years, Jon worked as an over-the-road truck driver, traveling all 50 states. Along the way, he fished whenever he could and took in sights most people only dream of.
To know Jon was to know kindness. He put others before himself—your needs, your happiness, even your heartaches came before his own. He made the world a better place with his unwavering love. Soft-spoken but thoughtful, his words carried wisdom. When he spoke, people listened. His patience was unmatched, and he believed in second chances. What you saw with Jon was what you got—an honest, steadfast, and good-hearted man.
Jon is survived by his loving wife, Marty Baker; his daughter, Kerrie Hawkins; his son, Jon Wesley Baker Jr. (Gracie); and his beloved grandchildren, Ada Brooke and Vivi.
His presence will be deeply missed, but his love and legacy will live on.
