Johnny Owen Hargett, 84, died Saturday, April 28, 2018 at ECM Hospital. He was born in Franklin County, Alabama to S.T. and Learly Duncan Hargett. He had worked as Sales Manager for Tiffin Motor Homes. He was a farmer, raised cattle, and owned rental property. He was a member of Franklin County Cattleman’s Association, a past member of the City of Red Bay Sewage Disposal Board and the Belgreen Masonic Lodge.
Funeral services Monday, April 30, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, Alabama with Reverend Gene Franks and Dennis Hargett officiating. Visitation is 11 a.m. -2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Belgreen Baptist Church Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by wife Alice Lucille Hovater Hargett; daughter, Tracie Clark (Jeff); grandson, Trey Bolding; granddaughter, Britan Crow (David); two brothers, Leon Hargett (Milerene) and Jimmy “Cotton” Hargett (Diane); and one sister, Faye Green.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Grady Hargett, Athel Hargett, and Billy Hargett, and two sisters, Vivian Taylor and Lillian Thorn.
Pallbearers will be his nephews, Ricky Hargett, Dennis Hargett, Dwain Hargett, Kel Hargett, Larry Oliver, and Greg Lee.
