Johnny was born on January 10, 1945, to John D. and Onis Marie Williams Bramlitt. He was a graduate of Hurricane High School and retired from the furniture industry, where he worked as a supervisor. Johnny was a Mason and a member of the Pontotoc Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of Buchanan Baptist Church. Johnny enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, and fishing. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life, and being their Papaw was his favorite title.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 8, 2026, from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Buchanan Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 P.M. at Buchanan Baptist Church, with Rev. Bobby Cossey and Todd Shettles officiating, and Collins Finch will speak on behalf of the grandchildren. Burial will follow at Sand Springs Cemetery with Masonic Rites. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is honored to assist the Bramlitt family with the service.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Rediker Bramlitt, a daughter, Penny Finch (Randy), two step-sons, Todd Shettles (Michelle) and Kurt Shettles (Jane Clair), three sisters, Shirley Short, Mava Cobb (Tommy) and Angie Shettles (Jeff), a brother, Jacky Bramlitt (Sharon), seven grandchildren, Collins Finch (Georgia Claire), Morrisa Hancock (Luke), Sally Grace Shettles, Malana Shettles, Gray Shettles, Mamie Shettles and Lily Shettles, and two great-grandchildren, Rhodes Hancock and Ellis Lee Finch, and numerous nieces and nephews who affectionately called him “Uncle Papaw.”
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Wilma Dean “Deanie” Bramlitt, a brother-in-law, Jerry Short, a sister-in-law, Carolyn Godin, and a nephew, Robert Warren, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Collins Finch, Mitch Bramlitt, Gray Shettles, Kurt Shettles, Luke Hancock, and John Mark Short. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Ellis Lee Finch, Rhodes Hancock, Tommy Cobb, Jeff Shettles, Jacky Bramlitt, Hunter Bramlitt, Billy Coker, Terry Keith Weeks, Spencer Herring, John D Herring, Brian Stevenson, Mike Hensley, Rhett Hensley, Charlie Poe, Dustin White, Jeff Williams, Hunter Williamson, and Josh Wood.
