A Celebration of Life Service for Bro. John William Lentz, 95 of Corinth, MS, will be Saturday, 9, 2023 at 11:00 A M at Magnolia Funeral Home – East Chapel with interment to follow in Shiloh Independent Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, September 8, 2023 from 5:00 P M to 8:00 P M and Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 10:00 A M until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home – East. Rev. Mike Lee and Rev. Tim Dixon will officiate the service. Mr. Lentz passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born October 28, 1927 in Burnsville, MS to Clarence Lentz and Bonnie McCoy Lentz. Bro. John was a boiler operator and attended Biggersville Pentecostal Church. He was Master Mason at Burnsville Lodge 233 and enjoyed farming and going to sporting events. He loved going to church, listening to gospel music, watching gospel tapes and evangelizing at other churches. Bro. John is survived by his children, William “W.C.” Lentz, Wayne Lentz, Brenda Butkovich (Bucky), Kay Rickman and Marvin Lentz (Janice); 12 grandchildren, Stacie Mitchell (Brian) Brian Rickman (Demetra), Angie Fossett (Jimmy), John Lentz (Serena), Kristy Butkovich (Bryan), Brad Rickman (Amber), John Butkovich, Amber Frazier (Brannon), Brandi Kaufman (Joey), Marsha McDowell (Greg), Marlana Crump (Peyton) and Maranda Woodruff (Tyler); 27 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; his brothers, Manuel “M.C.” Lentz and Obry Lentz (Frieda); his sisters, Ruth “Liz” Parsons and Doris Hutson; his sisters-in-law, Ruth Lentz, Hazel McCann, Loretta Pierce and Charlotte Johnson; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 63 years and mother of his children, Junnie Mathis Lentz; his wife of 12 years, Atha Payne Lentz and his brothers, Clinton Lentz, Earl Lentz and James Lentz. Pallbearers will be Brian Mitchell, Weston Mitchell, Brannon Frazier, Peyton Crump, Tyler Woodruff and Braxton Barham. Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Bro. John William Lentz.
