John Wash Hood, 86, of Jasper, entered into rest Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at Shades Crest Nursing Home.
Mr. Hood was born November 7, 1927.
Visitation will be Friday, February 7, 2014 from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where services will be held at 12 p.m. Brother Billy Brasher will officiate. Burial will follow in Littleville Cemetery.
Wash is survived by his wife of 27 years, Lexie Hood; son, Steve Hood; daughters, Rita Hood and Judy Hood; stepchildren, Marvin Martin, Edward (Angela) Gray, Billy Joe Gray, Darlene (Donald) Smith, Kathy Smith, Gloria (Tim) Pelt, Wanda McGhee, Susie (Randall) Barber; brother, Dan (LuElla) Hood; a number of grandchildren and great grand children; nephews, Jerry Bryant, Gerald Bryant, Kenny Hood, Timothy Hood; nieces, Ethel McDonald, Marie Hill, Deborah Lay Jill Vanvoorst, Tammy Harbin, Carrie Blevins, Lisa Licko; great nephews, Jeff Martin and Anthony Dutton; great nieces, Sheila Sewell and Rhonda Dutton.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John Henry and Dolly Brewer Hood; sisters, Margaret Bryant, Lilly Mae Dutton and Mildred Martin.
