Mr. John W. Clifton, 73, of Guntersville passed away Sunday September 15, 2024 at Crestwood hospital. John was a US Marine veteran of Vietnam. He retired as a water patrolman for the State of Alabama. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Clifton; mother Farilee Clifton and father John Pope Clifton; brothers, Joseph P. Clifton and Thomas Wayne Clifton.
He is survived by his children, Jody Dunsmore, Jay Dunsmore (Erin), Johnathan Clifton (Tammy), Joseph Clifton and Autumn Clifton; sister, Janice Stowe; grandchildren, Blaine Dunsmore, Cody Dunsmore, Casey Dunsmore, Chloe Dunsmore, Carter Clifton, Carson Clifton, Ashlee Dunsmore and Cooper McKenzie; Lilly Dunsmore, Hadley Dunsmore and Iris Westmoreland; nephews, Jeremy Olsen and Matthew Olsen, Tyler, Hunter; nieces, Amy, Chasity and Danielle; sister-in-law, Kathy Baugh and Jackie Bryant.
The Funeral Service will be Saturday September 21, 2024 at 2:00pm at Carr Funeral Home with Donald Baugh officiating. The visitation will be from 12:00pm till 2:00pm at the funeral home. The burial; will be in Gilliam Springs Cemetery in Arab, Al.
