John Robert Moon of Meridianville, Alabama passed away on September 10, 2023 at Huntsville, Alabama.

John was born on January 5, 1981 in Huntsville, Alabama and was a 1999 graduate of Hazel Green High School. John was known for his great sense of humor and the way he could make everyone laugh. He was a poetic dreamer who was always fun to be around and was very patriotic and loved his country. John was a Christian and a follower of Christ who had a special place in his heart for the homeless. He had been a part of the First Baptist Church of Meridianville, enjoyed the outdoors, and loved cats and especially his dog, Murphy. He was also a great cook.

John is survived by his mother, Allison White and her husband, Ronnie; his father, Bruce Moon and his wife, Katie; his sister, Lindsey Smith and her husband, Joey; his brothers, Bradley Moon, Dustin Moon, and Kevin Diaz; Six nephews and three nieces including his special nephews, Levi Smith and Abel Smith.

John was preceded in death by his grandparents: John Moore; Marguerite Moore; Robert Moon; Mary Potts.

The the family has planned a private Celebration of Life in his honor at Carter Hills Cemetery in the Coldwater community of Lincoln County, Tennessee. Brother Paul Stover will be officiating.

Hazel Green Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
