John Matthew Russell of Huntsville, Alabama passed away Saturday, August 23, 2014.
A loving son, brother, brother-in-law and uncle, John enjoyed helping others. A graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School and Murray State University, he worked for several years at Arthur Andersen and Company as a certified public accountant. Most recently, he enjoyed assisting patients as a physical therapy technician and teaching those new to the physical therapy field.
Preceded in death by his father William R. Russell, Sr. and grandparents Roberta and William Matthew Russell and Horace and Maude Thompson all of Paducah, KY., he is survived by his mother Peggy T. Russell; sister Judy G. Russell, niece and nephew Ali and Sam Gray all of Louisville, Kentucky; sister Vickie R. Maley (Don) of Amelia Island, Florida; brother William R. Russell, Jr. (Sandy) and niece Elizabeth Russell all of Chattanooga; TN as well as aunts, Peggy Dean and Sue Thompson; uncle, Randy Thompson (Patsy) and many cousins.
A private service is planned. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Immanuel Baptist Church, 3465 Buckner Lane, Paducah, Kentucky 42001.
