John David "D.J." Norman Jr. John David “D.J.” Norman, age 49, of Goodlettsville, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2026. Funeral Services will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, August 17, 2026, in the Chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home, 2619 Highway 41 S., Greenbrier, TN, with Dr. Donnie Bryant and Bro. Steve Carter officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, August 16, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. and on Monday, August 17, from 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens.

He was born in Nashville, TN, on July 19, 1977, to John David Norman, Sr. and Linda Gail Slater. He was preceded in death by his father and his aunt, Carol Uselton, with whom he shared a close bond.

He is survived by his mother, Linda Gail Slater; siblings, Josh (Mandi) Phillips, Rhonda Norman, and Robert (Chelsey) Norman; nephew, Chandler Barrow, who held a special place in his heart; friend who was more like a brother, Tony Phillips; and a number of extended family members.

He was a 1997 graduate of Greenbrier High School. D.J. loved his family, loved to cook, and loved sports, especially the Vols, Cubs, Titans, and racing. He had an impressive ability to remember the most random facts and never missed an opportunity to share what he knew. He also had a great sense of humor, much like his mom, and loved making people laugh. He often joked about being an aspiring comedian and usually thought he was pretty funny. He will be remembered for the laughter he brought, the stories he shared, and simply for being D.J.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family or to Austin & Bell Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
