John D. Wagnon passed away on October 19, 2023 at Walker Baptist Medical Center in Jasper, AL. After a prolonged battle with dementia, he went to be with his heavenly father.
He lived a different life from most of us but he always loved people. He talked to everybody. He always enjoyed going to the Muscle Shoals football games on his bicycle. He worked with Alacare Home Care as a volunteer for several years and he always looked forward to that. He received an award one year as volunteer of the year.
He was preceded in death by his parents Wallace and Minnie Wagnon; and brother-in-law, Pete Gilley.
Survivors include his sisters, Martha Gilley and Debbie Atchley (D.D.); brother, L.W. Wagnon (Carolyn); nieces and nephews, and special friend, Brenda Kay Jeffreys.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 22, 2023 from 1-2:30pm at Colbert Memorial Chapel. A graveside service will follow in Colbert Memorial Gardens with Matt Heupel officiating.
