Mr. Joey Wayne Smart, 50, of Scottsboro, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Highlands Medical Center.
Mr. Smart was preceded in death by his mother, Illa Kay Smart, and his sister, Devon Janow.
He is survived by his wife, Anna McCrary Smart; his father, Bobby Smart; brothers, Bobby Smart Jr., Scotty Smart, and David Janow; sisters, Charlene Chaclan, Carla Skyles, and Amanda Smith; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Joey was loved by so many that we were unable to name them all, but please know that he truly loved each and every one of y’all, and that he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 20, 2026, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Scottsboro Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at the Scottsboro Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bobby Smart and Rev. Bill Summerford officiating. Burial will be in Inglish Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made at Scottsboro Funeral Home to help cover the funeral expenses.
