Funeral services for Mr. Joe “Mike” Hunt, age 81, will be held on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at 3pm in the chapel of Shelton Funeral Home, with Jonathan Criswell officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 5pm until 8pm and again Sunday May 10, 2026 from 2pm until service time in the chapel of Shelton Funeral Home.
Mr. Hunt a retired engineer for 45 years for the GM&O railroad, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at his home in Trenton, TN.
Mr. Hunt is preceded in death by his wife Nancy Hunt, his son Joe Michael Hunt Jr., and his parents Joe and Sara (Swaim) Hunt.
Mr. Hunt is survived by his daughters Michelle Odom and husband Kevin from Trenton, TN and Phyllis Hutcheson and Paul of Eustis, FL; three sons Kenny and Curtis Coble both of Trenton, TN and James Coble of Pensacola, FL; two brothers Tommy Hunt of Trenton, TN and Byron Hunt of Hendersonville, KY; four grandchildren, Brad Milligan and wife Amy, Hunter Neal and wife Ashley, Selina Wanser, and Jeremy Coble; and eight great grandchildren, Tyler, Aubrie, Grayson, Spencer, Owen, Bentley, Janson, and Aubree.
