Joe Gordon Baker, 72, of Athens, passed away on Friday, February 11th, 2022, at Huntsville Hospital. Mr. Baker was born on February 8th, 1950, to Millard Baker and Easter Sexton Baker.
Mr. Baker is survived by his wife of 53 years, Deanna Baker; daughters Deana Farris (Jeremy), Amanda Baker, and Krista Swanner (Braxton); grandchildren Emily Norton (Grady), Luke Farris, and Blake Swanner; brothers Ray Baker, Sidney Baker (Patty), and Terry Baker; sisters Lou Cook, Ritter Wynn, Faye Hurley (Dutch), and Sherry Dyer (Melvin); numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; his beloved dog Fluffy.
He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral services for Mr. Baker will be Wednesday, February 16th, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral home, with James Lemay officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 16th, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Mr. Baker was a member of Holt Road Baptist Church.
