Joe Allen Lankster age 76 of Athens, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Athens Limestone Hospital. Mr. Lankster was born January 10, 1939 in Madison County, AL to Alfred Blair Lankster and Roszell Knox Lankster.
Services will be Saturday, January 9, 2016 2:00 p.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Charlie McAdams, Ted Lankster, Jr. and Tommy Polk officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Elk View Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Lankster was a member of Shanghai Baptist Church. He was owner of Lankster Bull Dozing and Dump Truck Service.
Survived by one son, Al Lankster and wife, Pat of Athens; companion, Lounette Long Wilson of Athens; one brother, Ted Lankster of Athens; one half-brother, Earl Lankster, of TX; one sister, Kathy Mason of Huntsville; two half-sisters, Corene McKelvey and Dorothy Leper both of FL; on step-daughter, Therese Phillips of Athens; five grandchildren, Brandi Lankster, Amber Lankster, Kristy Burdge, Callie Brownfield and Alex Phillips; two great-granddaughters; four great-grandsons and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Gerald Hargrove, Josh McNatt, Tommy Polk, Oneal Long, Charlie Long and Brad Long.
