Joanne M. Blocker, age 69 of Joppa – Hulaco community, died Saturday – March 12, 2016 at Marshall Medical Center North.
She was born on April 7, 1946 in Detroit Michigan, the daughter of Jessie McCrary and Eula Vivian Buck McCrary. She and her husband Hubert Elbert (Johnny) Blocker of 46 years lived in the Hulaco Community. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of New Home Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband: Johnny Blocker; son: John Blocker (Margaret); daughter: Janet Louise Burgett (Ira); grandchildren: Shannon Ira Burgett, David James Burgett, John Coy Denney III, Jasmine Cheyenne Blocker and Heather Michelle Blocker. She was preceded in death by her parents: Jessie McCrary & Eula Vivian Buck McCrary and a brother Edward Buck.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday – March 15, 2016 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Brother Burton Sampson officiating. Burial will be in Ellenburg Cemetery – Joppa Alabama. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing.
Pallbearers will be Mike Simmons, Franklin Humphries, Phill Mitchell, Jeff Albright, Darron Blocker, Perry Blocker, Dalton Maze and Eric Whitehead.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday March – 14, 2016 at Arab Heritage memorial Chapel.
