JoAnn Whisenant Crump, 77, of Decatur, AL, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024.Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 1:00 to 2:00pm at Roselawn Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life service will begin at 2:00pm at Roselawn with Brother Ray Crump Officiating. She will be laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetery.
JoAnn Whisenant Crump is survived by her sister-in-law, Linda Whisenant McCafferty (Leon); nieces, Sherry Whisenant Fanning (John), Dawn Whisenant Daniel (Anthony) and nephew Shane Whisenant (Samantha); several great nephews; cousins, Sandy Gillespie Shelton (Arnold) and Tony Gillespie (Perry); and special friends Bruce and Cynthia Kimbrell.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Billy R. Crump; father, Glenn Whisenant; mother, Agnes Whisenant; and brother, Gene Whisenant.
JoAnn completed her college education at Athens State University and taught elementary school for 30 plus years at West Morgan Elementary School. JoAnn loved to travel abroad with co-workers and friends. One of her greatest joys was teaching kids of parents that she had taught.
