Joan Evelyn Archer, age 81 of Spring Hill, TN went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 4, 2023.
Joan was born in Gadsden, AL on December 28, 1941, daughter of the late Robert Durwood & Mary Evelyn Archer. She went to school at Gadsden High School. She married Bill (Butch) Traughber in February of 1975. Joan attended Auburn University and graduated from Samford University. She worked as Executive Director of the Tennessee Council of Juvenile and Family Court until she retired. She was involved in her church and many organizations. She was a true animal lover and caregiver. She owned, showed, and competed and won many competitions with her Quarter horses. Joan loved her dogs over the years and rescued many cats to nurse them back to health.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy (Butch) Ray Traughber, Mary Evelyn Archer, Mother, and Robert Durwood Archer, Father.
Survivors include her brothers, Robert Durwood (Selma) Archer, Jr. & William “Bill” M. (Debbie) Archer. Her nephews, Keith (Rocio) Archer and Todd (Allison) Archer also survive Joan.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Humane Society and/or The Alzheimer Association in loving memory of Joan Evelyn Archer.
