Joan Elizabeth Johnson Minor, age 72 of Cherokee, passed away on Wednesday, December 30th, 2015. Her visitation will be Sunday, January 3rd, 2016 at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. David Conley officiating. Burial will be in Cherokee Memorial Park.
Joan was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee and was a retired Administrative Assistant from Westside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, John R. and Valera Johnson; brother, Benny Johnson; and sisters, Ruth Moses and Hazel Dowdy.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. Dr. Kirk C. Minor; daughters, Dena Minor Pickle of Muscle Shoals and Kim Tigner of Hamilton; brother, Edward Johnson of Tuscumbia; sisters, Christine Wallace of Cherokee, Sandra Bolden of Waterloo, and Kathy Johnson of Cherokee; grandchildren, Kayla Pickle, Alicia Puckett, and Richard Tigner; and great-grandchildren, McKenzie and Luke.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
