Jo Ed Clark – Obituary

Mr. Jo Ed Clark, age 89, of Decatur passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at his residence. Visitation will be Sunday, January 29, 2017, 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, in Parlor B. Service will be 9:00 am, Monday, January 30, 2017, at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Steve Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Nashville, TN at 2:00 pm.

Mr. Clark was born January 30, 1927, in Paducah, KY, to Cortez Clark and Katherine Usrey Clark.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson Matthew Clark and his sister, Wanda Clark Brusse.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Brusse Clark of 65 years; two sons Don Clark (Beth) of Florence, AL and Doug Clark (Tammy) of Decatur, AL; three granddaughters Brandi Hammock (Billy) of Florence; Courtney Clark and Chelsea Lanier (Daniel) both of Decatur; grandson Mitchell Clark of Decatur; great-grandson Gage Roberts of Decatur.

Mr. Clark graduated from Columbia High School and attended CMA in Columbia, TN before entering the U.S. Army. He served in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Army of Occupation. He graduated from Lipscomb College in Nashville, TN in 1950. He was a CPA for Genesco in Nashville, TN, retiring in 1993.

Mr. Clark and his wife moved to Decatur, AL in 2005. He was a member of Beltline Church of Christ.
