Funeral service for Jimmy Tatum, 81, will be Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Ralph Henderson officiating with burial in Hartselle City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service.
Mr. Tatum died on Monday, Feb. 13, 2017, at his residence. He was born Feb. 12, 1936, in Chilton County to Russell Tatum and Gladys Tatum. He was a Master Sargeant retired from the U.S. Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Gene Hoarce Tatum.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret W. Tatum; two sons, Jimmy Tatum Jr. (Donna), Hartselle and Darrell Tatum (Nancy), Florence; five brothers, William Tatum, South Caroliana, Dale Tatum and Bobby Tatum, Alabama, Tim Tatum, Tennessee, and Gary Reed, Alabama; two sisters, Etoice Mims and Nynoka Manasco, Alabama; seven grandchildren, Barry Tatum, Kristy Culberson, Christopher Posey, Brandon Posey, Drew Tatum, Lee Tatum, and Maggie Williams; eleven great- grandchildren, Ashley Tatum, Aubrey Posey, Riley Posey, Makayla Posey, Kaiden Posey, Lucas Posey, Katie Culberson, Joseph Culberson, Tatum Culberson, Mason Culberson, and Ellie Williams.
Pallbearers will be Barry Tatum, Brandon Posey, Ben Culberson, Joseph Hardin, John Winters, and Christopher Posey.
In lieu of flowers, family requests that memorial donations be made to the Building Fund of Tunsel Road Baptist Church.
