Jimmy Ray Brewer passed from this life on August 28, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents William J. and Marcy Carolyn Brewer, two sister’s Jeanie Graham, Nancy L. Watts, and an infant son.
He is survived by his devoted wife Doyce Keeton Brewer of 50 years, a daughter
Melissa A. Brewer of Hartselle, Alabama, a son Curtis W. Brewer and wife Monica of Cleveland, Tennessee, two granddaughters Clancy Hensley (Richard) of Cleveland,Tennessee, Sloane Brewer of Murfreesboro, Tennessee one grandson Braxton Brewer of Cleveland, Tennessee. Mr. Brewer is also survived by two great granddaughters, Auburn and Azalie and one great grandson Anthony of Cleveland, Tennessee. He is also survived by two brother’s William G. Brewer (Sue Nell) Tuscumbia, Alabama, Jackie Brewer (Gina), Foley, Alabama; five sister’s Joyce Massey, Rockledge, Florida, Mary Ann Hovater, Tuscumbia, Alabama, Martha Myrick and Nell Holt (Charles) of Florence, Alabama, and Gail Delashaw (Michael), Decatur, Alabama. Mr. Brewer is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Brewer served in the U.S. Army from 1959 – 1963. He was an employee of
International Paper Products for over 30 years until his retirement in 2008.
Mr. Brewer was a devout Christian and a member of the Westview Church of Christ in Hartselle, Alabama. Funeral services for Mr. Brewer will be handled by Peck Funeral Home. The service will be held at the funeral home on Monday August 31, 2015 with the visitation being from 1:00 – 3:00 and the funeral at 3:00. Bill Hall and Reggie Corum will officiate. Burial will be at the cemetery at Salem Methodist Church.
Pallbearer’s will be Braxton Brewer, Tony Brewer, Jackie Wayne Brewer, Dax Holt,
Neal Myrick and Chester Wright. Honorary pallbearer’s will be Curley Burns and Rex Milligan.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations will be made to Hospice of the Valley.
