Jimmy L. Neese, 66, died Thursday, May 2, 2024 at North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. Jimmy was born on July 5, 1957 in Indianola, MS to the late Charles and Joyce Garrett Neese. He grew up in the rich farming lands of the delta. He quit school after the 4th grade to start doing what he loved, which was farming. Jimmy lived most of his adult life in Tupelo working for the Scruggs Farms from where he retired.

Jimmy was an avid outdoorsman. He loved doing anything outdoors, whether it was farming, riding his Harley-Davidson, ATVs, or just staying busy doing something in nature. When Jimmy was not outdoors, he could be found at Mike’s Bar and Grill in Tupelo playing pool.

A service celebrating Jimmy’s life will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel with Bro. Pete Ronacli officiating at 3 PM. The family will receive friends from 2 PM until service time on Sunday at Holland Funeral Directors. Jimmy is survived by his two children, Tammy Neese of Greenville, MS, and Kevin Neese of Tupelo; 6 grandchildren, Breanna Neese, Alexus Kilgore, Adilyn Neese, Beau Neese, Ava Neese, and Matthew Griffin; brother, Charles Neese of Winona, MS; sisters, Ruby Huskey of Greenville, MS, Nancy Neese Voytko, Debbie Bethel, both of Leland, MS, Linda Sapp of Batesville, MS, and Pam Neese of Tupelo; and several nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; Brothers Henry Lee Neese and Junior Neese; and sisters, Joyce Ann Ray and Janie Pearl Neese.
