Dianah L. West of Fayetteville, TN left us April 30, 2024, to be reunited with her husband of 60 years Ronald Wayne West, Sr. (07/23/1943-05/11/2023). Memorial services will be Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Higgins Funeral Home with Steve Steelman officiating. Visitation starts at 12pm with the service to follow at 2pm. There will be a private interment at Riverview Memorial Gardens.

Dianah was born July 26, 1944, in Columbia, TN to Reverend Boyd LeCroy (06/25/1906-09/1990) and Opal Elizabeth Hough LeCroy (10/08/1911-04/27/1995). She often spoke fondly about being a “preacher’s daughter” and grew up with a strong love for the church and its congregation. Her siblings reflect on Dianah playing the piano and volunteering for Vacation Bible School. Dianah’s passion for the Lord and her community within the church continued as she was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Fayetteville where she volunteered whenever presented the chance. Dianah lived a selfless life and found great joy in serving or providing for those blessed to have known her. She could be found any weekday baking for friends or accompanying neighbors to various appointments. She cherished the people around her, and her actions were truly a testament to her giving nature.

Dianah was a driven and successful part of Lifeway Christian Resources in their headquarters centered in downtown Nashville, TN for over 20 years. Here she orchestrated several employees and continued her love of Vacation Bible School through Sunday School and VBS Publications. The friendships she cultivated in that building lasted a lifetime.

Her other hobbies included brunches with her close friends from the Fayetteville Central High School Graduating Class of ’62 and enjoying her perfectly manicured garden at home. She was active in the Fayetteville Gardening Club, and often had an assortment of thriving flowers and plants in and around her home. She will be remembered for bringing a touch of liveliness and beauty everywhere she went.

Our hearts and prayers go out to her remaining family members: Daughter, Amy Elizabeth Elkins and spouse Kenneth Andy Elkins, Jr. with their two daughters, Brooke Elkins-Bauernfiend with spouse Beck Bauernfiend, and Hope Tavares with spouse Rain Tavares, and her grandson Lieutenant Tory West (USN) and spouse Karyna West.  Dianah was a great-grandmother to two boys Weston Nash Elkins (6) and Stone Alexander Tavares (1). Dianah is also grieved by her older brother Jack LeCroy and spouse Peggy LeCroy, her younger sister Jane Davis and spouse Jim Davis; and several accompanying nieces, nephews, and other extended family members. In addition to her parents and husband, Dianah was preceded in death by her son, R. Wayne West, Jr.

Memorial gifts for Dianah may be made out to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.

Higgins Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Dianah L. West.
