Jim had a long career in construction project management, with his most recent employment being in Facilities Administration and Planning at the University of North Alabama. He was an active member of Cornerstone Church of Christ and current president of the Florence Kiwanis Club. He was very active in mission work, jail ministry and community jobs ministry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fletcher and Kathleen McGee. Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Pamela Johnson McGee; daughters, Penny McGee Ellis (Brad), and Dr. Jacqueline McGee Lumpkins; grandchildren, Ashton Ellis, Jack Ellis, Emme Ellis, Preston Lumpkins, and Samuel Lumpkins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cornerstone Church of Christ Mission Fund.
