Funeral for Jimmy Hitt, 66, of Trinity will be Friday, August 21, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Caddo Congregational Church with Bro. Greg Standridge and J.T. Lowery officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Caddo Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Hitt, who died Wednesday, August 19, 2015, at his residence, was born May 15, 1949, in Lawrence County to Willie and Helen Hitt. He served in the U.S. Army and received the Bronze Medal. He was a member of Caddo Congregational Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Kenneth Hitt, Billy Hitt, Wendell Hitt and Randy Hitt.
Survivors include one son, Jimmy Shane Hitt; one daughter, Tonya Shelton; two stepsons, Shannon Sawyer and Brian Sawyer; five grandchildren, Dylan Hitt, Jerimiah Hitt, Chelsea Hitt, Caycie Jo Sawyer and Daphney Shelton; and six sisters, Dorothy Stephenson, Barbara Copeland, Scharline Yarbrough, Jackie Odell, Patricia Hitt and Carol Hitt.
Pallbearers will be Dylan Hitt, Jerimiah Hitt, Blake Burden, Mike Davis and Brian Sawyer.
Honorary pallbearers will be Marshall Shelton, Delmar Shelton, Bobby Suggs and Fred Shelton.
