Eula Wilder Jones Lanehart passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at the age of 93. Mrs. Lanehart was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Madison Wilder and Gertrude Tomberlin; her husbands, Joseph Jones Jr. and Jackson Lanehart; her sister, Mary Jane Hudson and brothers, Hank Wilder and Thomas M. Wilder Jr. Mrs. Lanehart was the owner of Eula’s Hair Styling until 1982 when she married her high school sweetheart and moved to Jacksonville, Florida. After the death of her husband, Jackson Lanehart, she moved back to Decatur in 1999.
She is survived by her children, Joseph (Beth) Jones, Sharon (Wesley) Jones Ward and Robert “Frog” Jones; grandchildren, Melissa (Glenn) Powell, Tracy (Jon) Wilbanks, Jennifer (David) Wood and David (Colleen) Jones and nine great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held, Friday, August 21, 2015 at noon at Roselawn Cemetery with Hughey Reynolds officiating. A time of visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Roselawn Funeral Home.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Hospice of the Valley for the great care that they provided.
Pallbearers will be Glenn Powell, Jon Wilbanks, David Wood, Michael Powell and Cooper Wood.
