Jimmie Leon "Snake" KnopJimmie Leon “Snake” Knop died Saturday, August 3, 2024, surrounded by his family.

Visitation will be Monday, August 5, 2024, 12-2 PM at Ridout’s Brown Service. Funeral service will follow in the chapel, with Dr. Mark Wilwee and Tommy Kirby officiating. Burial will be at Midway Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Knop was preceded in death by his parents, George and Inervell “Cricket” Knop; wife, Shelia McBride Knop; nephews, Shannon Terry and Joey Terry.

Snake is survived by his son, Jim Knop (Sabrina); brothers, Harry Knop (Connie) and Chris Knop (Paulette); sisters, Ruth Fuller (Jackie), Charlotte Brown (TJ), Connie Jo Cooley (Max), and Diann Maxwell (David); grandson, Peyton Knop; step grandkids, Kara and Maddox; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and brothers in arms.

Jimmie served in the US Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a Bronze Star recipient. He retired from Delphi and 3M. He was a classic car enthusiast and avid supporter of Veteran Support Groups.

Pallbearers will be Peyton Knop, Doug Fuller, Donnie Lowery, Steven Smith, Harrison Johnson, Ellis Johnson.
