  Jim Oppman, 51, of Madison, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026. Born on February 15, 1975, in Valparaiso, Indiana, Jim will be remembered for his quick wit and contagious laugh. He had a genuine warmth about him and an easy, personable nature.   
 
Jim was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Melissa Oppman, and a proud and loving father to his daughter, Preslee, and his son, Lincoln. He loved Jesus, and family was the center of his life. He took immense pride in the home, memories, and love they built together.
 
He is also survived by his stepmother, Sandy Oppman; his brother, Brad Oppman (Callie); his nephews, Alex (Maddie) and Andrew Oppman; and his stepsisters, Renee (James) Taillon and Jamie (Jamie Wrecsics) Smith. He was preceded in death by his father, Bunny Oppman, and his mother, Kay Oppman.
 
Jim proudly served in the United States Air Force. Beyond his service, he had a deep passion for Notre Dame football, which brought him endless joy.
 
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 24, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Church of the Highlands in Madison, Alabama, followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Faith Memorial Park in Madison, with military honors.
 
Jim will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Jim’s legacy of love, loyalty, and enthusiasm for life will never be forgotten.
