Jim Gann passed away on July 20, 2025, at the Albertville Nursing Home. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Wesley Gann and Flora Pritchett Gann.
Jim graduated from Anniston High School in 1957. He attended Jacksonville State University for one year before transferring to Howard College, where he graduated in 1963 with a degree in pharmacy. While there, he met and later married Janella Jolley, who also earned a pharmacy degree.
Together, Jim and Janella owned and operated Geraldine Drugs for 40 years, faithfully serving their community and building lasting relationships with customers who became like family.
Jim and Janella had two children: Jann Gann (Gil) Grant and Jimmy Bruce (Ramsey) Gann Jr. He was a proud grandfather to: Riley Gann (CJ) Brazell, Ryan Gann, Zachary Grant, and Reagan Grant and an even prouder great-grandfather to Beckett Brazell, whom he declared “the prettiest baby in the world.”
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at the Chapel of Adams Brown Service Funeral Home, Gil Grant and Zach Grant officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Shepherd’s Cove Hospice in Jim’s memory.
