Jewell Dean Isom McCord, 86 of Florence, died Wednesday, August 8, 2012. Her visitation will be Saturday, August 11, 2012 from 12:00-1:30 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home in Tuscumbia. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia with Miles Stutts officiating.
Mrs. McCord was a life long member of the Church of Christ and was a member of Wood Avenue Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer J. “Preacher” McCord and daughter, Judy C. McCord.
Survivors include her son, Thomas W. McCord and sister, Gladys.
The family expresses special thanks to the staff of E.C.M. Hospital for the care for Mrs. McCord during the last week of her life, the staff of Gentiva Home Health Care Service and Hospice, and each one who helped care for her over the last few months of her life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Mrs. McCord.
