Jessie Leroy Harkness Sr., 82, of Munford, Tennessee, passed away on October 2, 2026.Jessie was born in Drummonds, Tennessee, to Madro and Vashtie Harkness. He was a plumber by trade and took pride in his work and in providing for his family. Those who knew Jessie will remember him not only for his hard work, but also for his wonderful sense of humor. He loved to make people laugh and had a special way of bringing joy and laughter to those around him.Jessie was preceded in death by Gloria Harkness and his son, Paul Harkness.He is survived by his children: Jessie and Sheila Harkness Jr. of Drummonds, Tennessee; Steve and Karla Harkness of Brighton, Tennessee; Diane and Brandon Reid of Fairborn, Ohio; and Renee and Billy Copeland of Jonesboro, Arkansas.He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jonathan Harkness, Michael Harkness, Amanda Harkness, Chad Harkness, Adam Bedore, Mack Reid, Joshua Reid, Kaitlyn Reid, Drake Pipkin, and Valerie Tuggle; as well as his great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandchildren Tiffany Harkness and Cody Gatlin.Jessie is survived by his sister, Betty Vinson of North Pole, Alaska. He was preceded in death by his siblings Doug Harkness, Dennis Harkness, Francis Harkness, and David Harkness.Jessie will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew and loved him. His laughter, sense of humor, and ability to make people smile will remain cherished memories for those he leaves behind. His legacy will live on through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister, nieces, nephews, and extended family. Though he is no longer with us, the laughter and love he shared will never be forgotten.
