Funeral for Jessie Lee Kelley, 88, of Decatur will be Sunday, November 3, 2013, at 3 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Hollis Retherford and James Corum officiating. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Kelley, who died Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at home with family, was born February 23, 1925, in Lawrence County to Truman and Mary Kelley. He was a World War II veteran and was retired from Union Camp Box Factory. He attended First Decatur Holy Church of Christ and was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church. Jessie was an Alabama football fan. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Knight Kelley; two sons, Wayne Kelley (Renae) and Leland Kelley (Corine); three daughters, Marilyn Sandlin (Richard), Caroline Parker and Darlene Harvey (Randy); five grandchildren, Felicia, Delana, Damon, Dustin and Dakota; six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be friends and family.
