Jerry Wayne Gatlin, 79, of Athens, passed away on Friday, December 16th, 2022, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. Mr. Gatlin was born on January 31st, 1943, to Ulys D. Gatlin and Mary Guthrie Gatlin.
Mr. Gatlin is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Gatlin; daughters Kathy Coffey (Greg), Kristy Knight (John); grandchildren Paizley Peebles (Zachary) and Tyde Coffey; sister Sue Lewis; along with several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Gatlin is preceded in death by his parents and brother David Gatlin.
Funeral services for Mr. Gatlin will be held on Tuesday, December 20th, 2022, at 11:00am at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Ward officiating. Visitation will be Monday, December 19th, 2022, from 5:00-8:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Limestone Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Greg Coffey, John Knight, Tyde Coffey, Zachary Peebles, Danny Gatlin, Derrell Gatlin, and Derrick Gatlin.
He loved spending time with his family, Alabama football, bird watching, his lawn mower, and little green truck; but, most of all, he loved the Lord.
