Jerry Lee Thorne, 73, died Friday, May 15, 2026 at NMMC in Tupelo, MS. He was born in Tishomingo County, MS to Percy and Reba Mae Nunley Thorne. He worked for Bob Woods Auto Sales for over 40 years and loved going to the drag races.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 1 P.M. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, MS. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 19, 2026, from 12 – 1 P.M. at Deaton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Tishomingo City Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by one son, Josh Thorne; a grandchild, Audie Zion Young; his brother, Billy Thorne (Shirley) and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Harold, Charles, Bobby and Hoyt Thorne.
Pallbearers will be Junior Hutcheson, Butch Newcomb, Raymond Bowling and Brian Lynch.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Deaton Funeral Home.
