obituary image A memorial service for Mr. Jerry Ladelle Horn, age 84 of Ashland, will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Clairmont Springs Baptist Church at 1:30pm. The family will receive friends for a meal in the fellowship hall at 12:00pm prior to the service.

Mr. Horn went to be with the Lord Wednesday January 31, 2024 at the Grandview Medical Center.

Jerry was born January 11, 1940, in Rome, GA to Wyatt Olin Horn and Annie Pearl Nunn Horn. When Jerry was young his family relocated to Clairmont Springs, AL. He started his schooling at Little Heflin School in the Idaho community of Clay County, from there he went on to graduate from Clay County High School in Ashland, AL. After High School he attended trade school in Gadsden, AL where he studied to be a machinist. He was drafted into the army at the age of 25 and served 18 months in Germany as a helicopter mechanic. Following his service, he worked at many locations that made parts for the military. He retired from the Anniston Army Depot at the age of 54. During his life, Jerry, was also a loving husband, a devoted father, and an inspirational grandfather.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Olin and Annie Pearl Horn, and his brother Bloyce Horn.

Jerry is survived by his wife Patricia Ann Horn, two daughters Loretta Fleming of Talladega, AL, and Beverly Adams of Ashland, AL. Seven grandchildren Bert Fleming (Katie) of Talladega, AL, Curtis Starkey of Talladega, AL, Matt Starkey of Talladega, AL, Langdon Goray (Danielle) of Anniston, AL, Ladelle Goray of Cropwell, AL, Christian Adams (Tia) of Talladega, AL, and Bethany Adams of Ashland, AL. Eight Great Grandkids Holly, Sarah, Nevaeh, Leland, Emery, Abel, Scarlett, and Colton; Two brothers: George Horn of Oxford, AL and Carey Horn of Cropwell, AL; As well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
